She is the daughter of Arrernte Senior Hetty Perkins. She is also the grandchild of activist and soccer player Charles Perkins, and the daughter of the art curator and writer Hetti Perkins. Rachel Perkins is her aunt. Madden was a part of Australia's first drama for teenagers of indigenous origin, Ready for This. She has also appeared in critically acclaimed Redfern Now.
